In short...because I wasn't feeling good. It has been my personal experience that I feel my best when doing something to help someone or make them feel good. Sometimes it's lending an ear or a shoulder. Sometimes it's a random act of kindness. Sometimes it's simply a smile. It's amazing what a huge difference a small amount of effort can make.
Showing up. It is me showing up LIVE from 6am-6:15am Monday-Thursday for myself and anyone who wants to join and/or interact. It's fluid. Drink coffee, check the weather by taking the dogs out, chat, share a song or a recipe, perhaps. You know, coffee talk.
In addition to LIVE mornings, there will be a weekly "M4" (MY MENTAL MAINTENANCE MEETING). More information, dates, and location to come.
Eventually, I hope to host a book club, kickball, happy hours, you name it. I am open to suggestions.
Anything where we can meet new people and have fun.
I'm a person who, from time to time, gets stuck in my own head and can't get out. I constantly have to redirect my thoughts to (try to) keep my anxiety in check. I know the things I need to do to be my happiest and healthiest. I just don't always do those things. THIS (FGC) is my way of holding myself accountable and hopefully helping someone else.
I'm also a single mother of five, four I made who live with me and a 16 year old step daughter who needs to return my messages in a more timely manner! We have two dogs, a Great Pyrenees and a Pomeranian, who are like Beethoven on crack. When people ask what I do, I say "MOM" because that is my full time, overtime, downtime, ALL THE TIME position in life. Secondarily, I am a real estate agent and owner of CBUS TEES.
When not momming, I enjoy playing golf while consuming beverages. Live music has been what my heart missed most during Covid after hugs from my grandma. I did finally hug her just after her 94th birthday. It truly was the best feeling ever. Sadly, she passed a little over a month later but I will remember and cherish our last hug forever.
The point, I had anxiety and coping issues prior to Covid. The isolation, homeschool (fucking homeschool), fear, unknowns, just exacerbated those. I am ready to get back to living life even more fully than before and I don't think I'm alone.
